Our First OpenSpace

May 22nd, 2011 1 comment

Tomorrow is the launch of Greystone’s first OpenSpace, Unconference. For those of you who know me, you probably already realize this presents a bit of an uncomfortable spot for me. I’m the kind of person who likes to write to-do lists and craves structure. And, the idea of hosting a meeting of senior Web leaders with no pre-set agenda and no pre-generated presentations and materials is just a little scary to me.

Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

January 1st, 2011 No comments

As I sit watching football on New Year’s Day and thinking about 2011, I can’t help but reflect on the year we’ve had at Greystone.Net in 2010. It was a good year. Read more…

Excited, Exhausted and Grateful

November 24th, 2010 No comments

I spent the last week at the 14th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference, and I’m not sure I can accurately describe how I am excited, exhausted and grateful all at the same time. The Conference had an all time record attendance – over 570 folks for 100s of organizations country-wide – and what a great time. The keynoters were great from the kick off with Scott Linabarger from the Cleveland Conference to gaining an understanding in the Day in the Life of an e-Health at UWHealth through Becky Broering’s eyes. We also had great insights from David Harlow, Brian Solis, Rob Curley and Mark Gothberg. If you missed it, you missed a lot.

Born in 1992

October 11th, 2010 No comments

This Fall, the entering college class will graduate in 2014 (those born primarily in 1992) and I worry we won’t be ready for them as healthcare marketers and Web strategists unless we start right now. Is your organization ready? Does your organization have a strategy to get ready?

Brag on Yourself a Little …

August 3rd, 2010 No comments

Now, I know mom always said it wasn’t right to brag on yourself, but go ahead and do it just this time. You deserve it. After all, we all know how hard you work and without many resources. So nominate your hospital or healthcare system for a Best in Class award.

Never Forgetting

July 26th, 2010 No comments

Yesterday, while eating a leisurely breakfast in San Diego before our Webmaster Workshop, with some fun and a little amazement, I watched  crowds of people head toward the last day of the 2010 Comic-Con. Many of them – young, old and every age in between — were in ”extreme costumes” that were hard to believe. Who knew so many people actually dressed-up like the Green Hornet or Thor on any given day? Not me.

July 21st, 2010 No comments

We are pleased to release the conference brochure for the 14th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference, which will be held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas beginning November 15-17, 2010.  It took a ton of work to get the program in place, but it was also a lot of fun. Download a copy of it from our Web site. We think it is offers a wide and strong variety of educational and network opportunities.

Fourteen Years Ago … A Company Was Born

July 14th, 2010 No comments

As hard as it is to believe, 14 years ago today — on July 14, 1996 — Greystone.Net was “born” as a new company dedicated to and focused upon helping healthcare organizations and hospitals understand this new-fangled thing that Al Gore had invented — called the Internet. There were more than a few people in the industry who thought John Eudes, Bob Noel and I (the original co-founders) were more than just a little crazy to move away from a general healthcare marketing practice  to focus on Internet applications and solutions for hospitals … but we were confident the “Internet” had a big future. Little did we really know.

Are You A Mr. October?

April 5th, 2010 No comments

Today is one of my favorite days of the year: Opening day in baseball. I’ve been waiting since last October for this day to come, and it’s finally here. I like the freshly-manicured green grass fields untouched by runners and basemen; I like the look of the crisp, clean new uniforms untouched by dirt and sweat. Perfect games, although improbable, are possible and nobody yet has a losing season. Mostly, I like the idea that anything is possible starting with this day.
