A Few More Thoughts … From the Webmaster Workshop

What a great group we had for the Webmaster Workshop last week in Chicago!  I thought the food and the service at the Sofitel was fantastic.  The networking and the conversations seemed to be valuable to all and, as usual, it was like drinking through a fire hose as we were trying to take in all of the good ideas and case studies.

Handling the News You Don’t Want to Hear

58 Best Practice Case Studies

Only a few short weeks ago, I sat in my office combing through over 125 entries for the 2009 Best In Class Awards.  In our office we each painstakingly read and analyze every nomination in search of a short list of finalists for each award category — and 2009 was clearly the most difficult year for us, in terms of narrowing the field.  Others in our office also comb through that same list and then we all converge in the conference room to begin our annual ritual — a litigation process to lobby for our favorites and create the consensus list of finalists.

Spreading The Word

Well, we just left the 11th Annual Internet Conference in Las Vegas! Immersing myself in the enthusiasm surrounding blogs and social networking has inspired me to get started on my own blogging. So time to stop putting it off and get on with the brain dump online. Coming to this conference, or attending any conference for that matter can be a reinvigorating experience. But what happens to that enthusiasm between the time that conference ends and the time it starts again next year?
