Have PowerPoint, Will Travel
If you’ve ever seen me speak, you can tell I kind of enjoy it. Actually, talking is one of my favorite things. And when I know a little bit about what I’m talking about, it’s even more fun. :’)
That’s why one of my favorite parts of this job is that I get to speak at a number of different conferences. We all do. The reason is we have a lot to share. Our experience in working with so many different hospitals and health systems on so many different aspects of their online strategies is worth sharing. It’s a perspective not a lot of people can claim.
One of the things that always impressed me about this organization is their focus on improving the overall state of the industry on the Web. I referenced that in one of my very first posts as a big reason why I was excited about joining Greystone. These conferences are another example of that. We don’t get paid to do them, and with rare exceptions, have to pay our own travel. But it’s part of fulfilling our mission, I guess.
Another reason I love them is that it’s a great way to meet people and hear about what’s important to them. So, if you are attending any of the conferences, or participating in some of the webinars we have on tap, be sure to say howdy. It’s one of the main reasons I’m there!
